Party Week continues here at TasteBuddy HQ.
Mrs. TasteBuddy asked me last week what I would like to have for my birthday supper. Chicken wings maybe? Ribs? Steak and potatoes? (Yes, these are some of my favourites.)
As I thought about dinner, not just for myself but for my kids as well, I decided the best option would be an old favourite: Southern Crunch Chicken from President's Choice.
So that was dinner: chicken burgers (fresh buns, Southern Crunch chicken, lettuce, tomato, pickles, mayo) with chips and dip. By the door, there was a cooler filled with some of my favourite drinks, including leftover Stewart's sodas and a few cans of Kilkenny draft beer. (It wasn't quite warm enough for beer, so I went with a Stewart's Orange 'n Cream.)
Dessert (hardly necessary after such a meal) was delicious homemade ginger cookies -- a present from Mrs. TasteBuddy. With her permission, I'll post the recipe sometime. They're amazing; better than anything you can buy.
Every year, I seem to forget about the free-on-your-birthday deals offered by Tucker's Marketplace and Tony Roma's (to name but two restaurants that could have fed me for free on June 17). But doesn't our home menu sound better?
